Treatment Assistant at Kvarnbacken HVB Home
Värmlands läns Vårdförbund is a municipal association with 16 member municipalities in Värmland. The association operates HVB services in several areas and is a key player in the overall development work regarding harmful use/dependency in the region. Beroendecentrum Värmland is jointly operated with Region Värmland for adults with harmful use/dependency and in need of detoxification care. Kvarnbacken is an integrated HVB home for adults that we operate together with Region Värmland. Riddarnäset is an integrated facility where we, together with Region Värmland, operate HVB for young people aged 13-20. Flöjten is our acute and assessment home targeting children aged 0-12 years. The association also organizes courses and conferences in the area of harmful use/dependency and has a joint mission with Region Värmland and the municipalities in the region to develop work on harmful use/dependency in Värmland.
Description
Do you want to start working at our new HVB home for adults? Kvarnbacken HVB opened in November 2025 and is a collaboration between Värmlands läns Vårdförbund and Region Värmland.
This means that all staff work integratively to ensure our clients receive the best care, support, and treatment for their difficulties in life.
Kvarnbacken HVB accommodates up to 14 clients, adults aged 21 and over with harmful use and dependency combined with mental health issues.
The staff group consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, treatment assistants, treatment consultants, chefs, and caretakers.
Kvarnbacken offers a unique opportunity to work with care and treatment in an integrated environment in a fantastic setting. Kvarnbacken is located in Forshaga municipality, specifically at Mölnbacka Herrgård.
The treatment will cover areas that are assessed to hinder the client and contribute to as independent a life as possible. There will be access to, in addition to health and medical care, school, internships, various psychoeducational interventions, and treatment programs.
We are convinced that our integrated operations increase the conditions for a cohesive care chain and qualified care and treatment.
We now need to hire several treatment assistants to cover during the summer period of 2026.
Responsibilities
As a treatment assistant, you will be responsible for the daily practical work with clients. Together with other staff, you will be responsible for implementing the treatment planning. The work includes collaboration with the client's family/network, social services caseworkers, as well as other authorities and important contacts.
Ongoing documentation of journal notes is included, which means you should be able to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
The time spent with clients during their placement at Kvarnbacken has clear goals and purposes, which means you will carry out structured activities during work shifts with clients individually or in groups. You are expected to participate in all activities that clients should/can perform, both theoretical and practical in nature.
Qualifications
You have training as a treatment pedagogue/assistant or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent, matching the legislator's requirements for competence to work in an HVB.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We see that you, as a person, have an easy time establishing contact with clients, are flexible, proactive, and have high stress tolerance as well as very good collaborative skills. The work can be demanding at times, which requires calmness and endurance from you as a person.
Knowledge of harmful use and dependency, psychiatry/neuropsychiatry, and psychosocial treatment methods for individuals with harmful use and dependency.
You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
A driver's license is a requirement.
Meritorious:
- Experience working in HVB homes.
- Experience working in an environment where different cultures and approaches meet.
- Training in assessment instruments, primarily ASI, AUDIT/DUDIT.
- Training in treatment programs, primarily MI, CRA, ESL, and ÅP.
Conditions
